DSC PowerSeries Pro integration with EntraPass

EntraPass 8.30 integrates with all DSC PowerSeries Pro panel models. You can enable alarms from DSC PowerSeries Pro panels and integrate with KT-1, KT-400, and KT-NCC controllers. You can also expand the DSC PowerSeries Pro panel for up to 248 zones and secure any medium to large commercial installations without the need for wires on sensors or keypads. For more information about DSC PowerSeries Pro panels, refer to www.dsc.com.

DSC PowerSeries Neo and Pro virtual keypad support from the EntraPass workstation

The DSC integration interface now features a virtual keypad application. Designed as a user-friendly tool, the virtual keypad has the same functions and navigations as the physical keypad. Using the virtual keypad, EntraPass operators can perform intrusion functions remotely, such as arming and disarming intrusion panels, or acknowledging and cancelling alarms.

For more information about integrating panels with EntraPass, see Integrated_Panel_Configuration.

ASSA ABLOY Aperio IN100 wireless locks privacy mode, and escape and return

When you integrate EntraPass 8.30 with IN100 v3.2 or higher Aperio wireless locks, enhance door safety by using the IN100 privacy mode. If you enable privacy mode at the door, you can deny door operations for all cards.

The IN100 escape and return feature offers additional safety by preventing individuals from locking themselves out of a building. If you exit a door, to securely lock the door, you must swipe or push a specific button.

For more information about configuring wireless locks, see Configuring licensed wireless doors.

Cybersecurity improvements

Storing reports securely

On the EntraPass 8.30 workstation, reports are now stored in the user’s Documents folder instead of in the Public Documents folder.

If you upgrade to EntraPass 8.30, the first time you log on, you can delete or move existing reports to your Documents folder.

For more information about reports, see Reports.

Updated operator roles and password requirements

See the following requirements to create secure operator roles and passwords:

•  Operator guard and administrator roles are now removed for new users.

•  The first time you log on to EntraPass, you must create a new password to replace your temporary credentials.

•  Passwords cannot include the word Kantech.

For more information, see Password rules.

PIN management for Multi-Site Global Gateways

PIN management for the KT-1 and KT-400 controllers has been optimized when more than 100,000 PINs exist. If the controller does not find the PIN in its local memory, it verifies against the gateway.

Microsoft signature

Version 8.30 executables and DLL’s are now signed with a valid certificate which is provided to Windows using the Microsoft Authenticode protocol. The certificate validates that our Kantech application is legitimate and has not been tempered in with.

KT-1 migration from Windows CE to Linux

The core operating system of the KT-1 One-Door controller is now updated from embedded Windows CE to Linux 3.00. There are different upgrade options depending on your system configuration and EntraPass version.

Using the KT-1 v3.00 with EntraPass/hattrix 8.30

•  You can upgrade existing KT-1 controllers.

•  If you use a KT-NCC with the KT-1, you cannot upgrade the KT-1 from Windows CE to Linux or from 3.00 to any new firmware version. You can upgrade the KT-1 firmware only when you use it in standalone mode.

•  KT-1 firmware v1.xx and v2.xx are still compatible in all deployments.

Using the KT-1 v3.00 with EntraPass/hattrix 6.02 to 8.23

•  The KT-1 does not support DSC, ASSA ABLOY Aperio and Simplex integrations. All other functionalities are enabled.

•  You can upgrade the KT-1 firmware in standalone mode.
